Songs from sky-flung stars
Songs from sky-flung stars
Sing continually of your goodness,
Of all you have forgotten and
of all you need to know.
God cast them far and wide
for those dark and dangerous times so
at the right time they will call you
Look up!
Listen!
and you see not stars but you will
hear in that small pinprick of light
your story kept safe
and at last
with pain
with fear
with joy
and the certainty of the angels
You will sing
a new song.
Everything that is created is a note, a century but a measure, all orchestrated by the Divine. We are all a part of a sacred symphony.
Our lives are a song. The story of our lives are the lyrics we write. The choices we make, what happens to us and how we respond to life determines the music we become and contribute to the world. Are we all blues? Jazzy? Are we into the spirituals & gospel tunes? Are there cultural songs that speak our piece? Where have we been been classical? Commercial? Atonal? Chants? Rap or hip-hop, or good old Rock -n-Roll? Then there is the music of silence. Nature. Music is diverse as life.
To live a full life, we must claim our story and sing our own song. This reflection series represents an effort to reclaim and find my and voice. As a teenager, I met two people, Barry Manilow and Mother Teresa (Mother T.) and got acquainted with their songs. These posts share how, over the years, in the most unusual of ways, their influence on my life set in motion the ability to discover my voice.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
